The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is a critical piece of legislation in the United States that outlines the annual budget and policies for the Department of Defense. It has been passed by Congress and signed into law by the President each of the last 62 years, making it one of the few “must-pass” pieces of legislation considered each year.
The respective versions of the bill passed by the House and Senate, respectively, include a number of emerging technology-related provisions. Many of these will need to be resolved in conference negotiations before each chamber can take up a final bill before sending to the President.
