In an op-ed published in Breaking Defense, CSET’s Owen J. Daniels discusses the potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on modern warfare and emphasizes the need for purposeful harnessing of AI by the Pentagon.
Daniels writes, “the naval aviation revolution in military affairs (RMA), which arose from US-Japan interwar competition, offers valuable insights for how the Department of Defense can conceptualize and develop military AI applications across the services and joint force.” He offers valuable lessons learned from this historical example, building off of his award-winning research for the Andrew W. Marshall Foundation.
