Max Hatfield

Data Research Analyst Print Bio

Max Hatfield is a Data Research Analyst at Georgetown University’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), where he supports research within the Applications team on AI, AI-enabled systems, and other emerging technologies and their implications for national security and international competition. Before joining CSET, he worked at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors researching stablecoins and AI applications to sanctions screening. Prior to that, he conducted machine learning research in Germany focused on training-time performance improvements in neural networks through advances in learning and optimization algorithms, and previously in the technology industry in China. Max holds degrees in Computer Science, with a concentration in machine learning, and International Studies, with a concentration in China and Chinese language.
