Jack Karsten is a Research Fellow at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), focused on emerging technologies and the workforce. His research interests include automation, skills training, and the future of work. Jack previously worked at George Washington University as a graduate research assistant on projects that examined workforce data collected by federal agencies and suggested methods to modernize skilled immigration to the U.S. He has also researched AI regulation, broadband expansion, federal R&D spending, and other technology policy issues at the Brookings Institution and the Progressive Policy Institute. Jack is currently earning a PhD in Public Policy and Administration at George Washington University, where he also earned a M.A. in International Science and Technology Policy. Jack also holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College.
