This month we assessed what high-skilled foreign talent is needed for the construction of new semiconductor fabrication facilities in the United States. Using CSET’s Map of Science, our researchers investigated how three areas of AI safety — robustness, interpretability and reward learning — are progressing. We released a new Data Snapshot exploring CSET’s data visualization tool PARAT to understand what constitutes an AI company. Also included in the Roundup is an original translation of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Big Data Industry through 2025.
