The Washington Post published an article regarding the growing interest among U.S. lawmakers in regulating artificial intelligence following the success of generative AI. Senator Charles E. Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader, is preparing to unveil a plan for how Congress could regulate AI. Schumer’s office has met with numerous experts, CEOs, scientists, and academics in the field of AI.
Senator Mark R. Warner also brought in researchers and industry leaders to speak to senators after Schumer’s all-member briefing. CSET Executive Director Dewey Murdick was among the leaders who were invited to speak to senators during the briefing.
