Dr. Michael Sulmeyer is a Faculty Affiliate at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET). He is a Professor of the Practice at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. Previously, he served as the first Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy and Principal Cyber Advisor to the Secretary of Defense. He has also served at the National Security Council, the Department of the Army, and U.S. Cyber Command. Dr. Sulmeyer has a law degree from Stanford Law School and a DPhil (PhD) from Oxford University where he was a Marshall Scholar.
