CSET’s Hanna Dohmen spoke with the South China Morning Post about the Cyberspace Administration of China’s (CAC) draft regulations aimed at generative AI services like ChatGPT.
Regarding China’s goal of creating a rival for ChatGPT, Dohmen states, “excessive restrictions, content regulation, and censorship could hinder commercialization and further innovation of such technologies.”
