Anthony Ferrara

Air Force Fellow Print Bio

Anthony Ferrara is a Major in the U.S. Air Force and served as an Air Force Fellow at Georgetown’s Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET). Prior to joining CSET, he was a staff officer at Headquarters Air Force Office of the Director of Staff, providing executive correspondence support to senior Department of the Air Force leadership. Before his Pentagon assignment, Anthony served as an MC-130H/J instructor pilot, supporting worldwide special operations for Air Force Special Operations Command. He holds a Master’s in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s in Management from the United States Air Force Academy. 

Israel has by far the largest AI ecosystem in the Middle East as measured in AI companies and financial investments, and foreign investors play a critical role in Israel’s AI market growth. This issue brief finds that AI investments in Israel have mostly originated from the United States. To date, Chinese investors have played a limited role in funding Israel’s dynamic AI companies. But understanding the risk of Chinese investments into the Israeli AI ecosystem will be important for the national security of both the United States and Israel.
